Ingredients
Take your deviled eggs to the next level with ingredients like hot sauce and Old Bay.
- Eggs. Large eggs are best because you're going to want to devour these. Week-old eggs are best because they are easier to peel after boiling.
- Fresh Shrimp. Use medium-sized shrimp for the best results. Remember to peel and devein them before cooking.
- Cooking Oil. You can use vegetable oil, avocado oil, or even olive oil.
- Lemon. A pop of citrus enhances the overall flavor.
- Mayonnaise. It's deviled eggs without this creamy ingredient.
- Hot Sauce. Switch up the amount, depending on how spicy you want the eggs to be.
- Sweet Relish. The sweet element tames some of the heat.
- Seasoning. I use Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Fresh Chopped Dill. This is the perfect garnish.
How to Make Cajun Shrimp Deviled Eggs
Making deviled eggs is a breeze!
Boil Eggs
Gently place eggs in a shallow pot and fill with water covering eggs. Once eggs begin to boil, turn off the heat and cover for 15-20 minutes.
Assemble Deviled Eggs
Then peel the eggs, slice them in half, and add the egg yolks to a medium-sized bowl. Place halved egg whites on paper towels to dry. In the bowl with egg yolks, add the listed ingredients beginning with mayo. Taste after each ingredient is added, and adjust to your liking and spice level.
Next, mix until creamy, cover, and then set aside.
Sauté Cajun Shrimp
Add olive oil to a medium-sized pan over medium-high heat. Pat shrimp dry with a paper towel, add Old Bay Seasoning, and stir until well coated. Now, sauté shrimp until done or until slightly charred. At this instant, add one lemon wedge worth of juice to the shrimp.
Lastly, scoop the egg mixture evenly into egg white cups and top with one Cajun shrimp. Garnish with paprika and dill. Finally, enjoy!

FAQ
What's the difference between a hard boiled egg and deviled?
Deviled eggs are hard-boiled eggs that have been peeled, sliced in half, and stuffed with a delicious paste made from egg yolks, mayonnaise, and other seasonings.
Should you let eggs cool before making deviled eggs?
Boiled eggs should definitely be allowed to cool before making deviled eggs. If you are pressed for time, submerge the boiled eggs in an ice bath as soon as they are done cooking. But ideally, they will get to cool for at least 15 minutes. Then they're easier to peel and the mayo won't separate from the yolk when you try to combine them.
Should you make cajun shrimp deviled eggs the night before or the day of?
Either methods work! You can make them up to one day in advance but don't garnish them until you are ready to serve.

These look delicious and are a great idea for dressing up deviled eggs. I have some questions about the ingredients though. You list one dozen eggs and one dozen shrimp. Since one dozen eggs will make two dozen deviled eggs, wouldn’t you need two dozen shrimp? Also, I can’t find Ole Bay Seasoning. Is this perhaps a typo? Do you mean Old Bay Seasoning? Thanks for sharing this recipe. I plan to try it soon.
