FALL IN LOVE WITH WINE SLUSHIES!

This wine slushy is a breeze to make. With that said, you will need four basic ingredients and a blender to prepare this frozen cocktail. There is no ice included, the frozen fruit does the trick, prepare to have a fruity, boozy frozen cocktail filled with fresh fruits and white wine.

This wine slushy is perfect for a BBQ, pool party or summer event. Your friends and family will love the flavor and texture of this drink. If you are in need of an additional cocktail to pair with this wine slushy, you certainly should check out my frozen watermelon and cherry frose!

    WHAT WINE WORKS BEST?

To explain, this recipe includes white wine. Furthermore, pinot grigio is used. You can certainly use your favorite wine, be sure to at minimum use white wine for the mango slushy and white or red for the strawberry part.

    Here are a few ideas:

    1. Pinot Grigio. Pairs well with the flavor of fruits. The primary fruit flavors in this wine are lime, lemon, pear, apple and nectarine. These notes pair well with the listed fruits and do not overpower the cocktail.
    2. Chardonnay. Similar to pinot grigio, these notes are citrus and green apple to overripe peach or canned pineapple.
    3. Sauvignon Blanc. The finishes are flowery to zesty lime, also a great option for this recipe.
    4. Sweet Red Blend. A great red wine option for the strawberry slush portion of this recipe. Surprisingly sweet, with notes of raspberry, strawberry and pomegranate.

    INGREDIENTS NEEDED

As mentioned, there are just four ingredients needed to prepare this wine slushy. You can certainly use what you have on hand but if you'd like to follow this recipe, here is what you will need.

    1. Wine: Again, I used pinot grigio, you can use whatever wine you prefer. Refer to the notes above for more information.
    2. Frozen Fruit. Frozen strawberries and mangos are needed. If you have trouble locating either, simply by the fresh fruit and freeze in a freezer safe container or bag.
    3. Lemon. Adding fresh lemon juice to the strawberry slushy makes for a great taste. It is certainly optional, but I suggest adding it if you have a lemon on hand! It basically turns the strawberry slushy into a strawberry lemonade flavor. Yes please!

    HOW TO MAKE WINE SLUSHIES

First, in your blender, place one cup of frozen strawberries, one cup of wine and juice from half of a small lemon, blend until smooth. It is important to realize, you may need additional wine depending on the desired thickness of the slushy.

Adjust ingredients adding more wine or frozen fruit to get desired consistency. I prefer a bit more slush than liquid, so my ratio is more fruit than liquid but do what works for you!

Then, after desired consistency is reached, pour the strawberry slushy in a glass or pitcher and place in the freezer. Remember this drink has two flavors so rinse your blender and prepare the mango portion.

Now after rinsing out your blender, prepare the mango slushy by adding one cup of frozen mango and one cup of wine to the blender. Blend until smooth adding more wine or frozen mango until desired consistency is reached.

    HOW TO ASSEMBLE

In a festive glass, begin pouring strawberry slushy first about halfway full. Next, pour the mango slushy slowly on top. If you want the layered look as seen in the photos, be careful to pour slowly so the Alternate between both flavors until glass is full. Add garnish if desired, serve immediately and enjoy! Store any unused slushy in the freezer for later use.

This is the perfect summertime treat. It’s dangerously delicious. How it never occurred to me to add fresh fruit to wine and blend it up I don’t know, but I couldn’t be happier that Seasoned to Taste made it a thing.
I made a big batch with the frozen fruit and wine I had on hand and froze the extras in reusable ice pops and regular ice cube trays to save for later.
So good, don’t hesitate to make it!

This strawberry mango wine slushy reminded me so much of my favorite sangria swirl from a restaurant back in DC that I made it again last night. I'll definitely make this a regular cocktail at all of my gatherings.

This tasted like a wine spritzer but a million time better because of the slush factor. By popular demand, I'm making them again next weekend.

I love how easy wine slushies are and had to try your recipe for girls night because the layered look caught my eye. The flavor didn't disappoint either so I'll be making another one for myself after work. Thank you!

Fun, bright, delicious and refreshing perfectly describes this slushy. Nothing beats a frozen cocktail in the summer, especially one that has wine. Love it!
