HOW TO MAKE THE BEST CRISPY AND CHEWY HONEY TRUFFLE SALTED COOKIES (RECIPE VIDEO)
FIRST, GRAB THE WET INGREDIENTS
Unsalted Butter- Unsalted butter is a must for this recipe! With that said, there's salt in this recipe already, don't over do it! And in this case, room temperature works best.
Vanilla- Quality is best. This helps to marry the flavors together and gives a buttery and slight nutty flavor.
Honey- Adds a sweet flavor. Use a honey with citrus or flowery notes.
Egg-A great binder for the cookie dough.

NEXT, GRAB THE DRY INGREDIENTS
Sugar-Granulated sugar works best!
Corn Starch- Helps to create a crumbly and chewy texture.
Baking Soda-Used to increase the volume of the cookies and lighten the texture.
Honey Truffle Sea Salt- This is the blend I use! Highly recommend.

HOW TO MAKE THE BEST CRISPY AND CHEWY HONEY TRUFFLE SALTED COOKIES (RECIPE VIDEO)
First, sift the dry ingredients and set aside. Then combine the sugar and butter in a large bowl and mix until combined. Next, add vanilla, honey and egg and mix until smooth. Now, slowly add dry ingredients and mix until the dough forms into a soft ball.
Refrigerate for at least thirty minutes up twenty four hours. This step should not be omitted, it helps the dough to form, the cookies bake evenly and won't expand as much.

AFTER THE COOKIE DOUGH HAS CHILLED
On a lined baking sheet, using a small cookie scoop or tablespoon, roll out small balls and place on baking sheet about 2-3 inches a part.
Be sure to allow enough expanding room for the cookies and being being careful not to place too close together.
Once the dough balls have been placed, bake cookies at 350 degrees for 11-13 minutes. Be careful to monitor the cookies during the baking process as results will vary based on your oven.
Allow the cookies to cool and slightly harden and drizzle additional honey and sprinkle with honey truffle sea salt.

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR BEST RESULTS
Don't over bake the cookies. After 11-12 minutes, the cookies should be cooked. They will look slightly undone but that's a good sign. As the cookies cool, they will harden a bit and take form.
Don't over mix the batter. This will cause the cookies to become tough and flat.
Varied oven temperatures. This common saying rings true. All ovens are not created equal. Make sure you are aware of how your oven heats and bakes.
Use a good butter. Tillamook and Irish Kerrygold are my favorites.
These cookies are just absolutely delicious and as always, if you give them a try, I'd love to hear from you in the review section below.

Hi, I want to try this recipe by using 1t of white truffle oil in the batter. Have you tried this substitution. I read it can separate the baked dough, can not take high temperatures, and change the truffle oil taste. Please advise.
Thank you!

Hi Jeanie! I've never tried truffle oil in this recipe but that small amount shouldn't be a huge factor. This may result in the cookies being a bit dense and not as fluffy but should result in great flavor still. Hope this helps!
